Tafsir Al-Baqarah 60: Do Not Do Any Damage on Earth with Sin

Nasehat Muslim

 وَإِذِ اسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ فَقُلْنَا اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۖ كُلُوا

 وَاشْرَبُوا مِنْ رِزْقِ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ

"And [recall] when Moses prayed for water for his people, so We said, "Strike with your staff the stone." And there gushed forth from it twelve springs, and every people knew its watering place. "Eat and drink from the provision of Allah, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption"

Tafsir [intrepretation]:

واذكروا نعمتنا عليكم -وأنتم عطاش في التِّيْه- حين دعانا موسى -بضراعة- أن نسقي قومه، فقلنا: اضرب بعصاك الحجر، فضرب، فانفجرت منه اثنتا عشرة عينًا، بعدد القبائل، مع إعلام كل قبيلة بالعين الخاصة بها حتى لا يتنازعوا. وقلنا لهم: كلوا واشربوا من رزق الله، ولا تسعوا في الأرض مفسدين.

And remember Our favors upon you - when you are thirsty in the desert - then the prophet Moses prayed to Us, he asked for water for his people, so We said; Buckle the stones with your rod, and twelve springs shall be sprinkled, according to the number of the tribe of his people, and each tribe knows its own spring so it is not fighting over one another, and We say; Eat and drink from the provision of God and do not you roam the earth with damage (sin)
